Join us for the 2021 Dr. Dawn K. Wilson Teaching, Learning, + Research Symposium!
The 2021 Dr. Dawn K. Wilson Teaching, Learning, + Research Symposium will occur on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. This highly impactful event will take place in McNair Hall and the Hinton Center on the HBU campus.
The theme for this year's event is “Dive DEEP with Learning: Discover, Engage, Experiment, Produce!” The symposium serves teachers and future teachers in public and private school settings, those who work in higher education, and those interested in research related to education and the behavioral sciences.
We are pleased to welcome this year's renowned keynote speaker, Les Foltos!
Foltos is the Director of Peer-Ed and leads the Peer Coaching team to help 48 nations implement Peer Coaching. For the last five years, Foltos has taught a course on Peer Coaching for Seattle Pacific University. He also created the ISTE Coaching Academy. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Instructional Technology for Seattle Public Schools, where he led the implementation of the district’s efforts to integrate technology into 3,000 teachers’ classrooms. Foltos is the author of Peer Coaching: Unlocking the Power of Collaboration, as well as numerous articles in the Journal of Staff Development, Learning and Leading with Technology, and Edutopia.
Breakout sessions will cover a gamut of topics focusing upon teaching, learning, and research. The sessions will be led by educators from multiple disciplines, area subject matter experts, and HBU graduate students. There will be 42 sessions from which to select!
